Smelly Odors – Have you checked your Ash Dump?

In the warmer weather we sometimes get calls about odors coming from the fireplace. There have been an increasing number of times where we go out and meet with customers only to find out that their ash dump is full and needs to be emptied. This is something that either the customer can do or they can have us do. The interesting thing about ash dumps is that you have no idea what previous owners, kids, guests, etc. have put in them. There can be anything from food, animals, cigarette butts, crayons, markers, etc. This is a great first place to check and clean out if you are getting an odd odor from your fireplace.
